CIM Group is a real estate investment firm that does the full cycle in-house: investment, construction/development, and property management. Our portfolio includes luxury commercial and residential assets, as well as hospitality, industrial, and entertainment. Some of our exciting projects include the Centennial Yards in Atlanta, Wynwood Square in Miami, and 85 Jay in Brooklyn.

Centennial Yards is a transformative project for Atlanta and one of the largest private developments in the United States. With a master site plan designed by a global team, the 50-acre Centennial Yards development will include new city blocks, public open space and up to 12 million square feet of new office space, retail, hotel, and residential buildings, a world-class sports-entertainment district.

We are currently seeking an AVP of Development to join our team and help in shaping the future of our organization! 

The AVP of Development will report to the VP in charge of project, this position is responsible for budget oversight, defining scope of work, interacting with government officials, and reporting on status of project via reports and presentations to various stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Under the direction of the VP of Development, oversees project budget and management of project expenses in alignment with project budget.
  • Assists in the negotiation process with contractors/vendors by performing due diligence, cost analysis and the like.
  • Develop and oversee project reports that include but are not limited to; scope of work, construction milestones, construction activities, issues associated with delays, cost variance analysis.
  • Responsible for securing the appropriate approvals, certifications, permits, etc. from city and other government agencies as required.
  • Ensure all contracts associated with project are complete and fully executed.

    • NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Processing and coding invoices
  • Budget formatting and tracking
  • Interactions with Accounting representatives on project-related expenses, costs, etc.
  • Spends approximately 40% of time traveling to project sites.

    • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversight of Development Analysts’ work activities related to projects
  • Oversight of contractors, subcontractors and vendors related to day-to-day activities, invoices, hiring and contract negotiations.

    • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS degree in Architecture, Construction or related major.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Real Estate development and/or construction with demonstrated knowledge of real estate development and construction process including design, contracting consultants and project management.

    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of design application software such as CADD
