Reporting to the Vice President of HR, the Director of HR will assist in the execution of the HR Operations strategy. The major focus will be to deliver an exemplary standard of care, efficiency and effectiveness to internal and external customers. The Director will lead, coach and develop the HR teams, including responsibility for our Employee Experience, Employee Relations, and HR records administration to improve capabilities, foster best practices and deliver optimal results that align with business needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Collaborate in the development and management of a high performing Human Resources function, including all aspects as it relates to assisting employees and leaders throughout the employee lifecycle. Assist in driving the transformation of employee onboarding and offboarding experience, HR records administration, employee continuous performance management, and transactional services with a focus on quality, customer service, innovation, automation and employee and leader self-service; increase self-service options and grow operating efficiency.Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations. Oversees the performance management process, coaching managers/supervisors on how to best communicate expectations and performance feedback on an ongoing basis.Collaborate with business and HR leaders to set strategic and operational goals and plans for HR Operations with a focus on continuous improvement, automation and solid first-line controls and compliance checks, including strategizing on and implementing new workflows and initiatives to consistently improve employee experience.Assist in building a best-in-class employee and leader support center with self-service and escalated service models.Assist in annually reviewing and making recommendations to management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.Maintain responsibility for organizational compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the department head, on personnel matters.Participate on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline requiredMaster's Degree preferred10+ years of HR experience, with increasing levels of responsibility. Active membership with professional Human Resources networks/organizations and ongoing professional development preferredExperience with project management, change management and driving programs independentlyAnalytical and data management experience with experience translating data into action planningInterpersonal and communication experience and experience building relationships at all levels of the organizationExperience helping organizations through scalingExcellent communication skillsExtensive HR knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training and developmentAbility to identify problems and drive appropriate people and process solutionsSolid written and oral communication skills; ability to present facts and recommendations effectivelyAbility to influence individuals and work effectively with various internal and external players to accomplish tasksEffective team building skills; excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
