The position will provide overall HR support and handle day-to-day management and administration of HR functions within designated client group. Will serve as a trusted business partner and coach to employees, managers, and senior leaders to ensure positive employee relations, supporting the needs of the business while at the same time ensuring the fair and equitable treatment of employees within the organization. As a trusted advisor, this position must positively influence and impact the organization by building strong relationships and offering innovative solutions. With a comprehensive understanding of their client group, this position will align the HR priorities and initiatives to critical business needs. This position must also ensure consistent and equitable application of organizational policies and procedures across a functional area or location and execute on talent initiatives. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manage employee relations and conduct investigations of employee complaints and alleged policy violations, escalating where necessary.
  • Coach and develop managers in all areas of people leadership, including performance management and talent development, among others.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Lead HR related projects and deployments and provide change management leadership where needed.
  • May be responsible for administering the performance review process.
  • Working with client group recruiter, support recruitment efforts where necessary.
  • Manage/support the employee onboarding and offboarding processes where appropriate.
  • Ensure upkeep and maintenance of HRIS records and compile reports from database.
  • May participate in Union grievance process and engages in labor relations under the supervision of Sr. HR leaders.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field
  • 5-7 years’ experience in broad based HR with working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including, performance management, employee/union relations, workforce planning, talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion and employment laws.
  • Strong background in employee relations, including investigation of complex issues required
  • Prior labor relations experience in union environment
  • Strong understanding of state and federal labor law and regulations
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong consultative skills with the ability to influence and form relationships with the business, becoming known as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to manage high level of complexity with degree of independence, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing own time and workload, juggling conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro helpful, but not required.
