Under the supervision of the Internal Audit Manager and / or Audit Senior, the Audit Intern will be trained and / or assigned to perform Sarbanes-Oxley 404 reviews or audit of internal controls over financial reporting, and to perform selective Operational reviews at an introductory to intermediate audit experience level.
The audit intern will gain invaluable introductory insights to professional auditing practices, and receive an excellent head start and opportunities to learn, develop and pursue a career in the public and private accounting and auditing fields. Successful candidates may be recommended to apply to a full-time position at CIM Group, L.P., subjected to suitable and open vacancies, and CIM’s Human Resource’s hiring process and requirements. Interns will also receive an opportunity to work with and assist CIM’s external auditors, comprising of the Big 4 firms.
  • Assist the audit team in clearly and accurately documenting and executing audit procedures as defined by department guidelines, or under the supervision of an Audit supervisor.
  • Complete assigned projects within department timelines and budget guidelines.
  • Learn to identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters, and improvement opportunities with senior associate, managers, and director to resolve issues discovered during the audit process.
  • Learn excellent project management skills to allow multiple projects to run concurrently and ensure timely completion.
  • Receive training to use the internal audit tool and improve your skills with Microsoft office suite.
  • Gain experience interacting with internal business partners, management, and senior management personnel.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Strong academic track record, minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Prior internship with Big 4 Public accounting firm a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Beginner to Intermediate understanding of US GAAP, auditing principles and internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
