CIM Group Is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our robust Data Governance team. This individual will be responsible for improving and maintaining the integrity of financial and operational data required for meaningful analysis across all CIM business units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Refine, maintain, and enforce CIM’s Data Governance policies and procedures
  • Maintain Data Warehouse and relevant relational databases
  • Support CIM’s timely performance reporting and data analytics functions
  • Assist multiple CIM departments with their ongoing data needs and reporting requests.
  • Coordinate with Accounting & Finance, Investor Relations and Property Management, to build tools that improve the efficiency of finance initiatives and ad-hoc analytic requests
  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Solid understanding of Financial Accounting Principles (US GAAP accounting, GIPS and REIS)
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and agile team environment
  • Proficient at MS Excel, MS Access, SQL
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with VB, VBA, .NET
  • Exposure to Data Science Tools (Python, Py-Spark, Matlab) is a plus.
  • Experience with Yardi, VTS J. D. Edwards or comparable software is a plus
  • Experience with ARGUS is a plus
  • Exposure to Real Estate and Property related accounting is a plus.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 3+ years' previous data analysis experience in the financial services industry
  • Real estate private equity experience (a plus)
  • CPA, CFA, MBA (a plus)
  • Knowledge of logical database modeling concepts and relational database management with SQL
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, GIPS/REIS performance metrics, and real estate operating metrics
  • Exposure to Data Governance Principles (a big plus)
