This position is responsible for overseeing both property and some fund level work, financial reporting functions for the infrastructure and real estate assets within the assigned portfolio, including supervision and leadership of staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees preparation of and approves asset reporting packages to meet investor/fund requirements on monthly, quarterly and annual basisOversee individual asset level financial audits, coordinate with external auditorsUnderstand complex legal asset structures and ensure operations in accordance with the respective agreementsAssist with the preparation and review of loan documentation for asset level financing and refinancingReview of and input to annual asset level budgets and forecastsPrepare/Review the waterfall and distribution for asset level entities.Ensures timely and accurate completion of all month and quarter end closing processesOnboarding of newly acquired assets for setting up of financial reporting. Responsible for final review and approval of monthly financial packages to Fund Accounting group(s) Establishes and supports standard practices and procedures for all record keeping and reporting to ensure compliance with internal and GAAP standardsPrepare/Review Partners capital call Monitor and ensure proper record keeping for all Capital ExpendituresComplete and review all monthly and quarterly CIM corporate reportingAssist in fund and asset level audits as necessaryWorks with Development team and Construction Accounting to manage job-costing processResponsible for understanding the accounting of newly acquired/restructure of assets by working closely with Fund and Investment teamsActs as point of escalation and support to ensure external departments understand policies and procedures for accounting and are following same.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in reforecast & consolidation of financial entitiesPerform ad hoc projects and analysesPerforms high level review of the financial closing, accounts reconciliations and variance analyses prepared by the Accounting Manager and JV or third party managersSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (IF ANY);
Oversees work assignments of property accounting staff including but not limited to, setting performance expectations, providing feedback/coaching on performance and ensuring accuracy and timely completion of work assignments.Responsible for staffing of newly acquired assets including but not limited to evaluation of existing financial staff, hiring new staff and training staff on CIM proceduresEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Related FieldCPA preferred7 to 10 years’ previous accounting experience property accounting in assigned asset class.Demonstrated success in a managerial roleSolar power and other infrastructure experience a plusDemonstrated expert level knowledge of GAAP accounting.TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable software.
