Serving the Community Together
When leaders come together with a desire to serve, great things can happen. In 2004, CIM Group Principal Shaul Kuba and Bishop Charles E. Blake Senior, former pastor of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ, met for the first time. Their initial conversation ignited a shared vision to create quality jobs, housing and amenities in an underserved community along Crenshaw Boulevard in South Los Angeles.
During a relationship spanning nearly two decades, both parties have worked diligently to execute on the vision. CIM purchased a series of church-owned properties and transformed them into developments that now enrich the neighborhood.
In July 2023, CIM broke ground on a mixed-use project at 3045 Crenshaw, the former site of West Angeles Church’s north campus. With 168 apartments and 40,000 square feet of ground floor retail, the new project will help address significant community needs and further enhance the area.
By building intentional relationships with local leaders like Bishop Blake, CIM discovers how to honor communities through projects that address the needs and desires of residents.
